According to the coordinator of programme, Ekanem Ekpenyong who is licensed by the Scottish FA as a children coach as well as a UEFA youth coach, the organizers have perfected plans to ensure a hitch free 2-week programme. All the children participating in the event will be given free jerseys and balls. They, however, will be expected to come with their socks and playing boots. So far, 250 children have been registered for the programme and registration was closed a week ago. Daily sessions will last from 9am to 12noon.
The bigger picture is to begin early to inculcate basic footballing skills in our young children, thereby creating early awareness amongst them, and possibly encourage some to take the game seriously in their teenage and adult life.
