President Muhammadu Buhari has announced that he will be proceeding on a 10-day working vacation to London beginning from Friday, August 3, 2018. Revealing this in a statement released by the presidential spokesman Femi Adesina, the President, in compliance with Section 145(1) of the 199 Constitution has despatched the relevant correspondence to the National Assembly.
The statement added that “while the President is on vacation, the Vice President will be in acting capacity as President.”
President Buhari had earlier on Wednesday met with All Progressive Congress (APC) Governors as well as senators elected on the platform of the party ostensibly to discuss the recent wave of defection of high profile members of the party to opposition parties.
The President also inspected his Presidential Campaign Headquarters located on Herbert Macauley Way in the Central Business District of Abuja, marking the commencement of campaign activities in the complex. He was received and shown round the facility by the Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi who is the Director General of the Buhari Campaign Organization.
